Sunday Mornings

At BTC we love coming together on a Sunday morning to spend time with God and with each other. We believe that it is an encouragement and an inspiration to corporately praise God and learn more about how the Bible can help us live our lives.

What should I wear?
Please wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. We are fairly informal, and casual clothes and jeans are quite normal.

What time does the service start?
The service starts at 10am. On arriving you will be greeted by a member of our Welcome Team, who will be happy to show you to a seat and help you feel settled.

What happens during the service?
Our services begin with a time of praise and worship. We sing contemporary songs, led by our Worship Team. Words are projected onto screens at the front of the Main Hall. Our praise time is usually quite lively, and people generally stand to sing.

Following our worship time, we receive teaching from the Bible. We believe the Bible is relevant to our lives today, and Sunday morning teaching helps us to put its principles into practice in our daily living.

Children and young people stay with their parents during the worship time, and during the teaching time, our Kids and Youth team provide activities for them.

At the end of the morning, tea and coffee are provided so that people can spend time together in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

Will I have to say anything, sign anything, give anything or be singled out in any way?
We want you to feel comfortable and relaxed during your time with us, and we will not put you on the spot or embarrass you. A financial offering is taken up during Sunday morning, but visitors are under no pressure to contribute, although welcome to do so. If you would like to stay in touch with us, our Welcome Team will be happy to take your contact details, but we will not ask you to sign anything during the Sunday morning.

Do I have to know a lot about Christianity to understand the service?
We are all on a spiritual journey, and the service helps us all to learn more about what we each believe. You do not have to have prior knowledge to understand what goes on, and we always welcome people who have questions. If you are particularly wanting to explore the Christian faith in detail, we would recommend you consider joining one of our Alpha courses, designed to give people an opportunity to ask as many questions as they want.

What time does the service finish?
The service finishes at around 12 noon, and you are welcome to stay to meet people, chat or ask any questions as we share refreshments together.

Is the church accessible?
BTC is fully wheelchair accessible. We also have a hearing loop. If you have any queries regarding any other particular needs, please do not hesitate to contact the church office.
