BTC Youthwork is growing. In September 2010 we made a few changes to our Youth program to engage a growing age spectrum and better serve all our young people.
We serve 11 to 18 year-olds with the belief that every young person has huge potential and a great purpose for their lives, to live for Jesus Christ. Age isn't a barrier when it comes to serving God and we really want to see teenagers in Bromley passionate for Him and growing in confidence in their faith.
See below for the various activities we have throughout each term, and check the age groups!
YOUTH SUNDAY
Each Sunday morning we gather with the Church family in worship from 10am, after which those in years 7-9 gather upstairs in a group called YS (Youth Sunday)
YS is a time of fun and informative, life-changing, discipleship making teaching. It's for young people so it will be relevant to them, it will be exciting, but it will also be challenging.
Those in years 10 - up to the age of 18 meet bi-weekly in a group called YS+ overseen by our leaders but primarily led by themselves. Bible study based discussions that increase our faith and encourages reading the word.
Youth Sunday is where we uncover what it means to be a follower of Jesus in the modern world, how our faith can take precedent over just fitting in and how being a Christian means living the fullest of lives every day.
YOUTH TUESDAY
Bi-weekly on a Tuesday during term time we meet at BTC in the Lounge. YT (Youth Tuesday) serves our young people as well as friends from outside the church with a space for good times, encouragement and growth as young people. The idea is that we discuss issue that young people face everyday and bring a biblical perspective to dealing with them. We want the youth of Bromley to gain perspective as they make life choices and to consider how Christianity and faith in Jesus as a way of living as opposed to much of society.
Besides that, we seek to build friendships, lark about and enjoy spending time together in a relaxed and open environment.
We have two groups: Years 6-8 meet from 17:00 till 18:30 and Years 9-11 meet from 18:30 till 20:00.
iGIRLS
IGirls is for girls only. Sorry Boys. If you're aged between School years 7- up to 18 years-old you can come along. We meet once a month on a Thursday evening from 7pm. Its an environment of honesty and openness where girls can be girls. We chat about life and seek to become better equipped growing up as a Christian Girl in todays society. We are currently encouraging the girls to read the word and pray each day and in doing so build a personal relationship with God.
